Slide 1 illustrates a steep line, almost vertical, and a not-very-steep almost flat line. Slide 2 calls these "big slope" and "small slope".

Slide 3: The steeper the line, the larger the slope. As a result, parallel lines have the same slope. And positive slope goes up while negative slope goes down.

Slide 5 illustrates rise/run; slide 6 notes that any two points on the line may be used to find the slope.

Slide 8 gives the slope formula

Slide 13 shows data on a graph (distance by time at 15mph at 1 hr 2 hr 3 hr); slides 14, 15 show how slope relates to speed. "Rate of change"

Slide 20 shows that a horizontal line has a slope of 0.

Slide 22 shows that a vertical line has an undefined slope, because it's got a division by 0.

Slope

The slope of a line represents its steepness and direction.
